Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance's newest AI video model and the successor to Seedance 2.0. It turns a text prompt, a single photo or a first and last frame into one continuous shot of up to 30 seconds, with dialogue, sound effects and ambience generated in the same pass.
Twice the length. Seedance 2.0 stops at 15 seconds. Seedance 2.5 holds one take for 30, so a scene can set up, move and land without a cut.
Tighter prompt following. Timed instructions such as "at 10 seconds the camera pulls back" are followed more reliably, which is what makes long takes usable.
Steadier characters. Faces, outfits and props stay consistent across the whole clip instead of drifting after the first few seconds.
This is exactly what the generator at the top of the page offers.
A 30-second Seedance 2.5 clip is long enough to tell a small story in a single take. The easiest way to plan one is in four beats of about seven seconds each.
Short models make you generate three or four clips and stitch them in an editor, hoping the light and the actor's face still match. With Seedance 2.5 the whole move happens inside one render.
Seedance 2.5 writes the audio with the picture: footsteps land on the right frame, a door creaks as it opens and short lines of dialogue are spoken on screen. Sound costs nothing extra.
One shot instead of four means the character, the wardrobe and the light stay the same from the first second to the last. That is the hardest thing to fake with clips joined together.
More ways to go long: how to make longer AI videos
Every setting the Seedance 2.5 generator accepts, in one table.
| Setting | Seedance 2.5 |
|---|---|
| Generation modes | Text to video, image to video, first and last frame |
| Resolution | 480p, 720p, 1080p |
| Length | 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 seconds |
| Aspect ratio | 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 21:9 (plus Auto with images) |
| Audio | Native sound, on by default, no extra charge |

Pick 480p for quick drafts, 720p for social posts and 1080p for final delivery. Wide 21:9 suits cinematic scenes, while 9:16 fills a phone screen.
Clips run from 5 to 30 seconds. Seedance 2.5 bills per second, so a 10-second clip costs exactly twice a 5-second one at the same resolution.
Start from text alone, animate one photo, or give a first and a last frame and let Seedance 2.5 fill in the motion between them.
From an empty prompt box to a finished clip takes three steps.
Choose Text to Video, Image to Video or Start-End Frame in the generator at the top of this page. Seedance 2.5 is already selected.
Describe the subject, the action and the camera. For clips over 10 seconds, add timed beats such as "0-8s" and "8-16s" so the motion unfolds in order.
Choose 5 to 30 seconds and 480p, 720p or 1080p, then press Generate. The button shows the exact credit cost before you start.

credits
Credits = seconds × the rate for your resolution: 21 at 480p, 47 at 720p and 158 at 1080p. Turning sound on or off does not change the price.
The Starter plan's 1,500 monthly credits cover 6 five-second Seedance 2.5 clips at 720p, or 14 at 480p. One full 30-second take at 720p costs 1,410 credits.
If a Seedance 2.5 render fails, its credits go straight back to your balance. You only pay for videos you actually receive.
How credits compare across models: AI video credits explained
Three Seedance models share the same generator. They differ in length, top resolution and price per second.

| Top resolution | 1080p | 4K | 720p |

| Credits per second at 1080p | 158 | 90 | Not available |
| Native audio | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Longest first-and-last-frame clip | 30 s | 5 s | 15 s |
the shot needs more than 15 seconds, or the story has several beats that must happen in one continuous take.
you need 4K, or a 1080p clip of 15 seconds or less at a lower price per second.
you are testing ideas at 480p or 720p and want the lowest cost per second before a final render.
Long takes need more structure than a one-line prompt. This four-part formula works for most Seedance 2.5 clips over 10 seconds.
Open with who or what is on screen and what they do, in plain words. One main subject per shot keeps Seedance 2.5 focused.
Split the clip with timestamps such as "0-8s", "8-16s" and "16-30s". Give each beat one change: a move, a reveal or a reaction.
Name one camera move per beat: slow push-in, tracking shot, crane up or handheld. Several moves in one beat make the motion jittery.
Say what we hear: ambience, footsteps, the mood of the music or a short line of dialogue in quotes. Seedance 2.5 generates it in the same pass.
Paste one into the generator, then swap in your own subject.
Text to video · 16:9 · 20 s
0-6s: A matte black wireless speaker rests on a wet stone slab at night, slow push-in. 6-14s: Rain beads roll off its surface as blue rim light sweeps across, slow orbit. 14-20s: The speaker lights up and the camera pulls back to reveal a city skyline. Sound: steady rain, a deep bass note when the light comes on.
Text to video · 9:16 · 30 s
0-8s: A young woman in a yellow raincoat walks through a misty Kyoto alley at dawn, handheld tracking shot from behind. 8-16s: She stops at a small shrine and rings the bell, the camera circles to her face. 16-24s: She climbs stone steps as the fog lifts and sunlight breaks through, crane up. 24-30s: Wide shot of the city waking up below. Sound: footsteps on wet stone, a temple bell, birdsong, soft acoustic guitar.
Text to video · 16:9 · 15 s
0-5s: Two detectives sit in a parked car at night, rain on the windshield, static two-shot. 5-10s: The older one says, "He's not coming back." Slow push-in on her face. 10-15s: The younger one looks out at the neon street, rack focus to the window. Sound: rain, a distant siren, a quiet engine hum.

Keep the person and the background from the photo. 0-5s: She turns her head toward the camera and smiles, gentle push-in. 5-10s: Wind moves her hair and the curtains behind her as the light turns warmer. Sound: soft room tone, a light breeze.
"Epic, stunning, ultra-detailed, cinematic" gives Seedance 2.5 nothing to act on. Spend those words on what moves and when.
Eight beats in 15 seconds leaves each one under two seconds, which reads as chaos. Three or four beats in 30 seconds is plenty.
A fast whip pan during a slow, emotional moment pulls against the scene. Match the speed of the camera to the action in each beat.
Seedance 2.5 can start from your own pictures instead of text alone.
Upload one image and describe the motion. Seedance 2.5 keeps the subject and the scene from your photo as the opening frame, then moves the camera and the people in it for up to 30 seconds.
Use a sharp image with one clear subject. Pick the aspect ratio you want the video to have, or leave it on Auto to follow the photo.

Give a first frame and a last frame, and Seedance 2.5 generates the motion between them. The reading nook below goes from a rainy afternoon to a snowy night in one clip.
Keep the camera position and the main objects the same in both frames, and change only what should transform, such as the light, the weather or a pose. Big jumps in layout make the transition hard to follow.
Thirty seconds of video with sound covers most formats people actually publish.

Thirty seconds is the length of a classic TV spot. Script the hook, the product and the call to action as beats and get one coherent take.

Generate 9:16 clips for Reels, Shorts and TikTok with the sound already in place, so a post is ready without a trip to an editor.

Dialogue, reactions and a camera that follows the action let you sketch a scene from a short film or a web series in one render.

Show a product from every side, then move in on the detail that matters, in one smooth shot from start to finish.
